Material made of scales, a by-product of the fishing and aquaculture industries, made from sardines, salmons and tilapia.
Whatever the fish specie, scales are always made with a mineral and an organic phase. However the rate of both components may vary from species to species.
During the production of the material, the natural biopolymer contained in the scales is extracted and mixed with the mineral part, to create the basis of the material.
The outcome is a powder that is compressed to to form sheets of various dimensions.
It is suited to many applications in interior and decoration.
