20 years ago, On June 7, 2003, we participated in the first Red Bull SOAP BOX RACE in Naples, with GO CART-ONE: the first an all-cardboard car.
Body, steering wheel, wheels and brakes all made of cardboard. Our challenge was to demonstrate that anything was possible with cardboard.
After two months of design and construction as well as road tests with various accidents, the day came for the big race where GO CART-ONE proudly crossed the finish line.
We did not come first, but for us the challenge was a different one. After twenty years we still remember very well the two fantastic days spent in Naples with 200 other teams from all over Italy and selected by Red Bull. All this was also possible thanks to Comieco who supported Matrec in this crazy adventure!
