The first meeting on measuring the circularity of products and services, promoted by Matrec and attended by companies Lavazza, Cassina, Elica, and Hera Luce, was held last 25 July in Turin, at the Lavazza’s Nuovola.
An operational and exchange meeting on circularity measurement approaches and methodologies that companies from different sectors such as food, furniture, household appliances and lighting services are pursuing. All with a view to ESPR regulation and towards EU monitoring framework.
The discussion between companies from different sectors confirmed the necessity of vertical approach to measuring circularity and the importance to applying quantitative KPIs that are functional to projects.
During the meeting, Matrec presented the status of EU legislation, the evolution of reference standards and their implications for project development in relation to different approaches to measuring circularity.
Given the success of the initiative, the next meeting will also be attended by companies from the fashion, packaging and material production sectors.
