We have reached the milestone of CIR-ME project, promoted by Gemstone under the Greenadopt program.CIR-ME enabled Mondo Espansi to collaborate with Matrec to adopt a methodology to design and measure circularity of materials, processes and products and to provide its customers with a circularity report.
This was made possible by Mondo expanded adoption of Matrec’s CircularTool, which was implemented as part of the CIR-ME project to enable the company to measure complete product circularity following the input-output approach: choice of materials, production process, and end-of-life scenarios.
A meticulous selection of environmental KPIs was made for the adoption and implementation of the measurement model applied to CircularTool: more than 32 KPIs.
CIR-ME was developed in line with the requirements of the EU ESPR Regulation for the furniture sector.
Mondo Espansi has started to present the circularity reports of the different padding solutions developed to its customers, receiving very positive feedback.
For us at Matrec, the CIR-ME project was an opportunity to update the CircularTool and make it even more complete for companies that want to measure product circularity.
