Tools and strategies that characterize the responsible design.
By Marco Capellini, architect
The Design for Sustainability, in its different forms, methods and applications, is becoming more and more strongly in all industrial sectors, from products to services.
This is the victory of those who for years have believed in a responsible, environmental and social design.
This is the victory of the small, medium or large companies that have been pursuing actions for eco-innovation and which are finally reaping the benefits.
This is the victory of those who have always heard that “green” was synonymous of marketing trend and sales strategy.
But above all, it is the victory of the “market” in which the product offer is more responsible and the consumer is more careful in buying.
In Class A+ design stories e From Ecodesign to Footprint Design I pointed out how tools and strategies that characterize the responsible design are transforming new products to give more transparency in supply and demand.
A transformation confirmed by the most influential economists which show that the investments of large corporations are social-eco oriented.
A transformation that emerges from the responsible design solutions that companies from all around the world are offering on the market, highlighting the environmental benefits derived from it.
A transformation that in most cases starts from the choice of materials!
Materials are the key of the success of products and the achievement of environmental performance that the market has been able to reward.
The choice of materials is the starting point and without doubt the winning strategy to eco-innovate.
For this reason, as MATREC we decided to continue to look forward and to find new tools and design solutions to make available to companies, architects and designers to promote and facilitate environmentally sustainable design choices. We decided to create a network with all those people who can give more value to search innovative solutions.
A choice in which, at international level, we are in the forefront on the issue of sustainable design and that allows us to communicate with Ministries, Universities, Research Centres and multinational, small and medium-sized companies. A choice that companies we work with ask us; the same companies who have pursued the choice of materials for the success of their products.
