Yamaha Motor has developed a high-quality recycled polypropylene material that, due to its characteristics, can be used for the main exterior bodywork of motorcycles.
The recycled PP, obtained by the Japanese company, is made only from pre-consumer recycled material, is fully traceable and free of environmentally hazardous substances.
Its origin, in fact, ensures the absence of purging compound, which are generated during resin synthesis, and scraps generated in the production processes of petrochemical and molding manufacturers.
Yamaha Motor has been driving the development and the use of recycled PP in its products for some time now, but this next-generation material offers even higher levels of strength and graphic quality than those previously used, allowing it to be used for areas requiring greater aesthetic appeal.
This will allow the rate of use of recycled materials in motorcycles and other product categories to increase in the future.
The company will begin using the new raw material with the main 2023 commuter models for ASEAN markets.
