Project related to the analysis of the most functional circularity KPIs to be used in measuring a product. For the project, we developed a strategic approach focused on assessing and improving environmental performance for different types of products. The main objective of this analysis was to provide companies with a useful tool for measuring and optimizing the level of product circularity.
The project was structured in several phases, each dedicated to the identification and analysis of specific KPIs, such as resource consumption, waste management, energy efficiency, recycling rate, disassemblability or reparability. The selected KPIs were analyzed through a framework that takes into account the different stages of the product life cycle, from design to production to end-of-life destination.
The information collected for the different products, was processed to provide a clear and detailed representation of the results obtained.
In addition, to facilitate the practical application of the KPIs analyzed, specific recommendations were developed to suggest improvements at each life cycle stage, encouraging the adoption of sustainable materials and the implementation of circular production practices.
Following the application of the KPIs to various products, project results showed improvements in waste reduction and resource use efficiency with the adoption of circular practices. The application of circularity KPIs thus proves to be a key lever to guide companies toward circular design and how it can be a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Through this project, companies now have assessment and monitoring tools that facilitate strategic planning toward a more sustainable future, in line with European regulations and consumer expectations.
