The measurement of the material circularity of some office chairs was carried out in order to evaluate the use of material resources used. Through Matrec’s Circular Economy Performance Tool, has been carried out the analysis of the flows of different products, analyzing the material composition, the origin and type of resources used, the disassembly, reparability and recyclability of products and materials.
Subsequent to the circularity results obtained, the company was provided with improvement indications for the choice of circular materials in order to improve the recyclability and disassembly of the products.
The measurement of circularity was carried out considering the requirements of the main international reference standards about circula economy, the CAM of the Ministry of the Environment and the Technical Specification for the certification of circularity developed by Bureau Veritas.
The new products have been made using more recycled materials and sustainable materials from renewable sources.
