Biodegradable shopping bag

A young designer, Johanna Hehemeyer-Cürten, in search of new concepts of sustainable design, has created a shopping bag through the valorization of by-products from renewable sources. The circular material that composes it consists of a compound of cellulosic production waste from the textile industry, mixed with pectin, a polysaccharide of vegetable origin obtained from the skins discarded from the processes of juice production. The bag is biodegradable and can be used until it begins to dissolve.
