Lego has unveiled the first prototype brick made from recycled PET, obtained from post-consumer plastic bottles. The challenge for the giant of the toy world is to respect the high standards in terms of safety and quality, and to allow the new bricks made of circular materials to be adaptable and integrable in the game with the existing ones and with all the accessory elements.
A one-liter PET plastic bottle can be used to make ten LEGO 2 x 4 bricks. The prototype meets many requirements including quality, safety and resistance to clutch power.
