Kartell, a well-known brand in the furniture and design sector, has introduced an industrial manifesto in its corporate policy with which it intends to highlight its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection. The research and development activity has made it possible to identify and include in the range of raw materials used by kartell, circular materials from renewable sources.
For the new collection of sustainable seating “Smart Wood” was used FSC certified wood, with a minimum consumption of resources for each component that makes up the seat, going to use only a thin layer of wood. This material has undergone a patented manufacturing process that involves the use of a mold, able to bring to the limit the 3D curvature of the panel thus creating shells characterized by simple and design lines. The structure of the seat is instead made of steel.
