Cotton + Corn is an initiative developed by the Reebok Future team to create shoes “made from things that grow”. In collaboration with DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products, a leading manufacturer of high-performance bio-based solutions, they developed propanediol, a pure, petroleum-free, non-toxic product that contains 100% USDA certified biobased content, derived from field corn. The sneaker, so, is costructed from an upper made of 100% cotton, and a corn-based sole.
