The Report Sustainable Products: FASHION 2014, made by MATREC within its activity on Sustainable Trends, presents the trends that are characterizing the fashion international market, through the selection 40 products that have been able to combine sustainability of materials, style and innovation.
In addition to the most common materials, such as leather, plastic (strictly recycled), the companies are using other materials decidedly less obvious as cork, wood, coconut and rubber for new proposals of glasses, bags, accessories, footwear and garments.

Shoes made of coconut, latex, bioresin and wool felt. Coconut fibre is collected from the coconut husk, it is transformed into sheets and sprayed with natural latex. The sheets can also be needled to enhance ventilation and resilience and with heat and pressure moulded. Bioresin was infused on the sides to give structure, trying to keep the cushioning under the foot. A wool felt sock and perforated insole was used next to the foot.
