Tetra Pak presents chemical recycling in beverage cartons

Tetra Pak has made for Lactalis, one of the world’s leading dairy groups, a poly-bonded carton package that uses for the barrier layer, a percentage of ISCC Plus certified chemical recycled polymers by mass balance.
The polymers come from used and recovered beverage cartons in Spain.
The chemical recycling process ensures that certified recycled polymers do not compromise package quality and food safety.
This new process, in view of circularity, enables the reuse of waste used beverage cartons in a closed loop, allowing its application even for packages intended for food contact and with a multi-material structure that is more difficult to recover by mechanical means.
